The 10 year old heiress Luise Pogge, nicknamed Pünktchen, visits a middle school in Munich. Her friend Anton lives in humble surroundings with his divorced, bedridden mother. Anton goes to work for her at the ice cream parlor, but the added responsibility leads to worsening marks at school. When Pünktchen finds out about the situation of her friend, she decides to help him which leads to both funny and serious entanglements.
